A strong saison with an Australian twist.
Food Loves Beer Editors | June 4, 2014
Brewed in collaboration with Tasmania’s Mountain Goat Brewing, Ridgy-Didge is the latest offering in Brooklyn Brewery’s Brewmaster’s Reserve series. Aromas of citrus, fresh hops and Belgian yeast esters rise out of the hazy apricot-colored brew whose fine, creamy head coats the sides of the glass. The palate is a fusion of taffy, yeast, and the citrus-spice character of dry hopping. Lemon myrtle lends a dry, citrusy herbal flavor to the finish as the exotic spice and delicate heat of Tasmanian pepperberry tingles the sides of the tongue.
A uniquely flavored saison, Ridgy-Didge is a one-off, draft-only libation, so find it now and enjoy it while you can. This beer is perfect for al fresco dining and pairs nicely with striped bass, grilled portobello mushrooms, and lamb burgers. Serve in a snifter at 45-50 F.
