Brooklyn Brewery’s First Brewmaster’s Reserve of 2014
Food Loves Beer Editors | March 12, 2014
Hammarby Syndrome, Brooklyn Brewery's latest Brewmaster’s Reserve beer was brewed in honor of their New Carnegie Brewery opening later this month in the Hammarby Sjöstad area of Stockholm, Sweden. It's a robust yet surprisingly smooth strong ale brewed with spelt and spruce fronds – both historic ingredients in Scandinavian beers. The characteristic dryness of spelt is perfectly balanced by the sweet, citrusy flavors imparted by spruce, making this strong ale very drinkable on a cold winter's night. Plus, it's a delicious addition to any meal, especially roasted meats and hearty winter stews. Available on tap through May 2014.
