UNIBROUE ÉPHÉMÈRE CRANBERRY
Éphémère Cranberry is the latest seasonal offering from Unibroue, North America’s oldest brewery producing Belgian-style ales. The Éphémère series features white ales flavored with a particular, seasonal fruit. Returning to the market after a ten-year hiatus, Éphémère Cranberry pours a hazy gold with fine bubbles and a frothy white head. The aroma is that of sweet-tart tropical fruit and Unibroue’s distinctively spicy yeast. Its white ale base hits the palate first, with coriander, Curacao orange and tart fruit. Midway through, grapefruit and green apple make a brief appearance followed by a delicate cranberry finish. Typical of other offerings from the brewery, the carbonation is huge, so pour carefully to avoid it rising too fast and overflowing. Éphémère Cranberry is a delightfully refreshing alternative to many of the heavier beers usually associated with the winter season.
Serve in a flute or tulip glass at 40-45 F.
Suggested Food Pairings: The delicate body and subtle flavors of Éphémère Cranberry pair well with baked Brie, oysters on the half shell, and Tarte Tatin.
