Toast the season with the original winter warmer.
Celebrating the winter solstice with food and ale is a tradition that predates Christianity by over a thousand years, and is perhaps one of the first universal holidays. We thought it only fitting to pay tribute to this ancient observance with a glass of Samuel Smith’s Winter Welcome Ale, now in it’s twenty-fifth year. The bright bronze hue is a cheery reminder of the longer days to come, while the aromas of ripe pear, warm honey, and holiday spice are fitting for such a festive brew. Flavors of creamy malt, plum and toasted barley are balanced with soft floral hops, all ending in a lush and warming finish.
Serve in a pint or half-pint glass at 50-55 F.
Suggested Food Pairings: Samuel Smith’s Winter Welcome Ale is the prefect complement to savory cheesecake, roast goose, and Christmas pudding.
