GRAND TETON SNARLING BADGER
Snarling Badger is a Berliner Weisse with a decidedly American interpretation. While the German originals are brewed to around 2.5%-2.7% alcohol by volume and are meant to be enjoyed young, Grand Teton Brewing’s version weighs in at 7.5% abv, and is specifically designed to age wonderfully in your cellar. The beer is a blend of two brews. One batch is fermented with lactobacillus, which creates layers of sourness and a bone-dry finish over several months of aging. The second beer is produced using a Bavarian Hefeweizen yeast, which provides the flavor and aromas of banana, spicy cloves, and mixed tropical fruits. Blended together as Snarling Badger, you will be treated to aromas of tart stone fruit, tangerine and clove, along with wheat malt and bold yeast. The flavor follows a similar path, with striking sourness, refreshing effervescence, and a slightly funky-dry finish. Serve in a goblet or chalice at 40 F.
Suggested Food Pairing: Snarling Badger pairs nicely with charred radicchio, chicken enchiladas, and grilled peaches. We used it to make yummy beer-infused cupcakes.
