An anniversary ale from one of America’s original craft breweries.
Founded in 1987 by Irene Firmat, Full Sail Brewing has many reasons to be proud. A pioneering craft brewery now in it’s twenty-seventh year, it is also one of the first employee-owned breweries in the country. To celebrate their success, Full Sail created 27 Anniversary Wheatwine Ale using 100% malted wheat. The bright copper brew is topped with a light head that dissipates to a nice lacing. Sweet aromas of warm dates, sultanas and caramel come first, closely followed by wheat and hay. The flavor is intricate and inviting, with ripe stone fruits, Armagnac and marmalade all balanced by wheat’s inherent dryness and grassy hops. This wheatwine is a one-time only brew that will continue to develop with up to five years of cellaring, so be sure to grab a few extra bottles to save for your own special day.
Serve in a snifter or tulip glass at 50-55 F.
Suggested Food Pairings: The rich flavors of 27 Anniversary Wheatwine Ale pair wonderfully with creamy Gorgonzola, Fennel and Prosciutto Quiche, and apricot pistachio blondies.
