EXTRA HOPPY ICE CREAM
While we usually don’t recommend cooking with beers that have exceptionally pronounced hop bitterness, we just couldn’t resist experimenting with the 2015 Odd Year Release of Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine - Extra Hoppy. We wanted to both showcase and enhance the balanced flavors of bitter citrus, pineapple, and vanilla, so we wrapped them in a rich blanket of creamy custard and gave them a spin in the ice cream maker. The result is delightfully (and deliciously) odd!
