Biere de Champagne provides the bubbles for this classy cocktail.
We love cocktails with history, and the classic French 75 boasts its share. Folklore has it that it was created on the battlefield during World War 1 and served in the spent casing of a 75-millimeter field gun, thereby, earning its name. The less intriguing but more likely story is that it was born in London's Buck's Club, adapted from a Tom Collins recipe.
We love reinventing cocktails too. So here is a different bubbly take on the French 75. We've replaced the Champagne with Deus Brut des Flandres (Belgian ale). The substitution of this very sexy Belgian ale produces a sparkling gem that is a perfect year-round cocktail.
