This session IPA is big on flavor and easy to drink.
Abita’s latest year round offering is Big Easy IPA, a bright gold beer with aromas of ripe citrus, damp pine forest, and delicate wildflowers. Bright hops are woven between layers of caramel, giving the beer an amazing complexity considering its relatively low alcohol level. Brewed with lemon peel and dry hopped with four complementary varieties of hops, Big Easy IPA is light and citrusy up front, leading to a subtle bitterness and a long, floral finish. The structure and character of Big Easy IPA is more like that of a well-rounded English special bitter, and that’s okay, because it fills a flavor gap in American craft beer that has been empty for too long.
Serve in a pint or half pint glass at 40-45F.
Suggested Food Pairings: Abita Big Easy IPA pairs well with cheddar, beer-battered fish & chips, and Carrot Coconut Soufflé.
