Of all the world beer styles produced by American craft brewers, it is a rare treat to find a helles doppelbock with the authenticity of Abita’s Andygator. The aroma is deceptively simple, redolent with sweet biscuit malt, hints of fruit, lager yeast, and herbal, grassy hops. These notes carry over into the flavor, as fresh bread, hay, and wildflower honey blend with a delicate balance of hops. The finish is clean, with a subdued bitterness that cleanses the palate.
Serve in a goblet or stein at 42-48 F.
