VICTORY SWING SESSION SAISONSwing into spring with this lower-alcohol saison
Food Loves Beer Editors | April 9, 2014 VICTORY SWING SESSION SAISON
Swing Session Saison pours a hazy yellow with a pure white rocky head. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, pineapple and spearmint swirl out of the glass, accompanied by lightly toasted malt and yeast. A medley of citrus flavors explodes on the tongue, quickly giving way to the unmistakable bite of Belgian saison yeast and a dry, bitter finish. The bitterness lingers, tempting you to take another sip, and then another. Rye, wheat, and oat malt add depth, while lemon zest and peppercorns add punch to the hop character. The body is light to medium, as would be expected of a session ale, but the flavor is huge. Pair Swing Session Saison with steamed mussels, or enjoy it with grilled shrimp or chicken. Serve in a pint glass at 43-50 F.
